The Grande Ole Opry
In 1974 the long running radio show the Grande Ole Opry moved to this new and larger home. This building has 4,000 seats. Opening night U.S. President Richard Nixon played a few songs on the piano. The stage contains a six foot circle of oak that was cut from the stage at the Ryman Auditorium the Opry’s former home. Artists stand on the circle as they perform.
The Grande Ole Opry plays from this site several times a week from March through October. This site houses the Radio City Christmas Spectacular for five weeks during November and December. In May 2010 the Opry House was flooded along with much of Nashville due to the overflowing of the Cumberland River.
A nice place to eat and watch people at the Grande Ole Opry on a sunny day.
